June 2018
Steve Barnett and Steve Claffey take over the conservatory franchise at the Plymouth Garden Centre, and Crownhill Conservatories Ltd is born.
March 2020
With the outbreak of the Covid pandemic and the first lockdown, the need for adequate home offices rises, and many homeowners across the South West choose to add a conservatory. But as suppliers and plasterboard manufacturers shut down, the biggest issue Steve & Steve face is obtaining building materials. Plaster in particular is quite rare, and price variations are massive, so they have to go further afield – to Bovey Tracey.
June - August 2020
After successfully overcoming the initial challenges posed by the pandemic and adapting to the new social distancing rules in place, the team carry out a large number of installations, taking full advantage of the hot summer in the South West.
December 2021
Business is on the rise, and Crownhill Conservatories are enjoying a 20% increase in both the number of installations and revenue from the previous year.
January 2023
With things settling down and the company’s reputation as honest, reliable conservatory installers spreading across the South West, Crownhill Conservatories celebrate a massive milestone in turnover.
March 2025
Crownhill Conservatories extend their range of services by offering installations of the new Guardian Home Extension, a highly innovative type of home extension.
May 2026
Crownhill Conservatories Ltd continues to grow by leaps and bounds, launching a new website that aims to provide even more comprehensive customer service to clients in Plymouth and the South West.
