Here at Crownhill Conservatories, we are approved Guardian roof installers in Plymouth and have years of experience in fitting this type of product. If you’ve ever thought about upgrading to a guardian conservatory roof to truly increase your living space all year round, then read on to learn all about this innovative roof type and what makes it a great option for any homeowner.
What is a guardian conservatory roof?
Guardian Warm Roof is an energy efficient roofing option for conservatories that delivers great insulation to allow you to use your conservatory all year round in comfort. Designed to retain heat in the winter and keep you cool in the summer, a Guardian conservatory roof can either be used to replace your existing conservatory roof or be installed on your brand-new build.
Lightweight, stylish and highly insulated, the Guardian conservatory roof has a multi-layered construction to ensure optimal thermal efficiency. Externally, the roof is made up of three layers, a base layer of plywood sheeting, a middle layer of breathable membrane and then a top layer of tiles that come with a 40-year guarantee. Internally, there are two layers of insulation (aluminium taped for air tightness) topped off with an insulated plasterboard ceiling. In total, 125mm of insulation is used internally, to ensure your conservatory is ready for you to enjoy all year round.
Whether you’ve got a gable end, Victorian, lean-to or Edwardian conservatory, you can have a Guardian Warm Roof installed. We can also offer bespoke solutions for combi conservatories and non-standard designs.
What Are the Benefits of a Guardian Roof?
As Guardian roof installers in Plymouth we know that the roof system is a stylish and attractive alternative to traditional conservatory roofs, it can also help you to save money on your energy bills. As the roof type is designed to be energy efficient and has achieved a superior U-value (0.18 W/m.K in England and Wales and 0.15W/m.K in Scotland), you won’t be spending as much money heating the room ineffectively, as the Guardian roof has fantastic thermal reliability to keep your room at a steady, ambient temperature.
What’s more, there are a variety of Guardian roof options available. Whether you want to flood your conservatory with light and have a solstice skylight installed or prefer the subtle light that comes through roof windows, you can customise your Guardian Warm Roof to suit your needs. You can even get us to install sunken lighting or spotlights during the construction process! The roof tiles also come in an array of colours (ebony, antique red, moss green, charcoal and burnt umber), so you can match your new roof to the roof of your home.
Installation is fast, taking just a few days to complete, with minimal disruption to your home.
